The Ellis Gas Breaker can be mounted below the plunger or above the standing valve. It allows a small amount of fluid to re-enter the pump intake and allows the valves to open in case of a gas interference or a gas lock situation. Continuous inlet of fluid into the pump intake improves pump fillage and reduces gas pounding. This improves the life of the pump components in a gas filled environment.
